You'd think sooner or later they might pick up a linebacker... Frankly, I thought their DB situation was okay, assuming everyone on their roster was healthy. But the LB corps is pretty thin at this point. Maybe there's someone on the market that they like? Or someone they're going to trade for? Or maybe Klecko moves to MLB and Vrabel moves back to the outside... Who knows?
Belichick (and Parcells) has a long history of drafting undersized college linemen and converting them into linebackers. Bruschi was a DE at Arizona before coming to Pats. So was McGinest (not at Arizona).
Not having done more than glance at the draft summery on ESPN I notice that the Pats took two defensive linemen late in the draft. Both could see action as backup linebackers this season as they are groomed for the future. If Klecko can make the transition that would seem to be his fate as well.
